day in preparation for their game on Monday night against the Saints Blue Kawann Short Jersey , and a few notable players were absent from practice today. The biggest name on today’s report is left tackle Chris Clark. While he hasn’t been the best left tackle in the league since being signed by the Panthers as an emergency option after losing both Daryl Williams and Matt Kalil to injured reserve, he has at least been a warm body with experience. If Clark is unable to play on Monday night Christian Miller Baltimore Ravens Jersey , things could get really ugly for Cam Newton—and that’s saying something.Graham Gano was also held out today but there’s a good chance he’ll be ready to go on Monday night. The usual ‘veterans day off’ applied to Julius Peppers, Mike Adams and Thomas Davis today Womens Christian Miller Jersey , and Newton was once again limited to no throwing in practice. Taylor Heinicke and Kyle Allen filled in for Newton any time the ball needed to be thrown.Rashaan Gaulden missing practice is also concerning since the Panthers lack depth in the secondary. They designated Da’Norris Searcy for return from injured reserve a few weeks ago, but they have to decide soon whether or not they’ll add him back to the 53-man roster. If Gaulden is unable to play on Monday Color Rush Christian Miller Jersey , chances are good that we’ll see Searcy back on the roster this week.Update: Gaulden missed practice today due to an illness. Hopefully he’ll be ready to go as the week progresses. Here’s today’s full injury report:Panthers injury reportDid not participate in practiceS Mike Adams (rest/wrist)OT Chris Clark (knee)LB Thomas Davis (rest)K Graham Gano (knee)S Rashaan Gaulden (illness)DE Julius Peppers (rest)Limited participation in practiceQB Cam Newton (shoulder)DT Kawann Short (calf)Full participation in practiceN/APractice StatusDid not participate in practice = 0% of a player’s normal repetitionsLimited participation in practice = Less than 100% of a player’s normal repetitionsFull participation in practice = 100% of a player’s normal repetitionsGame StatusOut = Player will not playDoubtful = Player unlikely to playQuestionable = Uncertain if player will play The Panthers still have a good chance to land a quality player."For anyone disappointed with the Panthers selection of quarterback Will Grier at No. 100 because they didn’t draft a safety, you may get some early satisfaction on Day 3. Here are six safeties with good to above average grades all from big time programs that are still on the board. The Panthers are bound to have a shot at one of them.A pick from this group may not start week one but in time could develop into a starter. I’m not quite as sold on drafting a safety next myself. I would like to see the Panthers add more depth to either of the lines. On the offensive line I like guard Michael Jordan from Ohio State or Dru Samia from Oklahoma. Samia projects as a potential future starter at left guard. His bio seems like a good fit for the Panthers as he plays on the nasty side. On the defensive side don’t snooze on a double dip at edge rusher. This is a deep draft at the position with a lot of guys who can bend around the edge. Here’s four still on the board that appear to be good value in the fourth round:I’m still 100% sure the Panthers will draft a linebacker. Here’s the five best on the board. My favorite is Te’von Coney from Notre Dame. He graded out in the top 15 at his position. My last comment is every year the Panthers pick a player fairly early that I’ve never heard of. We have dodged that bullet so far in this draft but it could be this first pick on day three. If instead they go with one of the top players listed above then we will add to an already nice draft class.
