Not that he needs much of an introduction, but Adi Dassler is the founder of this amazing adidas rugby brand, so when celebrating any sort of milestone of the trefoil, Dassler deserves any bit of appreciation he can get. Made with pristine white leather uppers, a faded white rubber toe and outsole, and the signature black Adi Dassler portrait on the heel, tthis particular pair was limited to just 700 units and to this enjoys its role as one of the toughest adidas pick-ups around. When adidas Originals showed off new colorways of their classic Tech Super runner last week, adidas retro we were reminded of how major brands have enjoyed significant success with resurrecting some of their more obscure running OGs. Asics and New Balance have given their brands new relevance as fans learn to appreciate the value of a timeless design, and of course, Nike Sportswear has sprinted so far out in front in this category with plenty of heat still in the vaults. The latest obscure resurrection is the Nike Air Base II, pictured here with VNTG treatments that make this quintessentially early 90s colorup appear as if it were on ice for those two decades. Last week we caught a glimpse of the upcoming adidas ZX5000 designed in tandem with California-based UNDFTD and Japan-born A Bathing Ape, spotted on the cover of the upcoming Sneaker Freaker issue 25. It s a perfect mix of the two distinct viewpoints, mixing Bape s signature camouflage print logo on the upper and UNDFTD s American roots with the red, white, and blue stripes on the upper. Gold-foil logos are spotted on the heels, with the UNDFTD logo standing alone on the left shoe and the Bape symbol on the right. adidas The Return of D-Rose series is back, again chronicling Rose s road to recovery following that unfortunate injury that took him out of the 2012 NBA Playoffs, and pretty adidas barricade much took the whole Chicago Bulls out as a result.
